Description

***The Delicious List*** of DSH Perfumes (as of 04, 2021)

A

Adoration (in Archives)

Adrenaline and Scorched Earth:  A somewhat surprising scent of highly sugared ‘Cowboy Coffee’ mixed with charcoal, embers, and ‘blackened’ dirt notes grounded in a rich vetiver base. Another extremely unconventional “gourmand”.  * awesomely Unisex. ** 100% Botanical.

-Agrestic : A twist on the modern fougere that features hay, plum, tomato leaf, and a cannabis heart, of course.

Albino (A Study in White): Albino is a fascinating modern fougere with a crisp fruity – citric start that dries down to a creamy wood and musk. Basil, rhubarb, and white cognac add surprising elements.

-Alchemy: (in Archives no.3):  A rich and mildly sweet ambery oriental that feels like it morphs into ‘gold’ as it wears and warms on the skin. Over the past few years we have been getting repeat requests… not only for this perfume in particular but for an ambery floriental with just these notes.

Ambre : My own personal amber perfume made more balsamic and rich with a classic floral heart, and subtle green, spicy tones in the topnote. The perfect amber scent for those of us who love amber fragrances but usually find them too sweet to wear.

-American Beauty: An exquisitely rich and voluptuous red rose soliflore perfume with subtle fruity (cassis) – musky nuances. It’s gorgeous and oh, so feminine!

-Amish: A lovely herbal-fougere scent; relaxing and soothing. 100% Botanical.

Amouse Bouche  – *discontinued

-Ancient Air (Accord): (In Archives no.3): A sensual patchouli accord based on the true meaning of “Per Fumum” (through smoke). It is reminiscent of a time when the air was laden with incense smoke that carried prayers and sacrifice to the Gods. One of our top patchouli designs that incorporates rich resin and incense notes to balance out the intensity of the patchouli.

-Antiu: A universal (unisex) conifer / resin perfume with a distinctive bitter almond and galbanum topnote pairing.

-Aphrodisia: A spicy floriental that is great for men and women. Super sexy.

-April: ( in Archives no.3):  Just as the name implies, April is a Spring fresh fruity-floral with refreshing leafy green nuances, subtle green fruit notes, and a soft, floral – musk drydown. April Showers bring May flowers… says the old adage. For us, April is replete with soft dewy raindrops and Spring floral beauties. It’s utterly romantic.

-Aqua Admirablis: A highly traditional, all botanical eau de cologne formula that is refreshing, citrussy and with subtle green herbal nuances in the topnote. As hydrosols have been used along with alcohol, this perfume has an added liveliness that imparts a ‘just showered’ feeling.  *100% Botanical.

-Aquamarine : (in Archives no.3): Summertime sublime… and your best vacation to the seaside in a bottle. Aquamarine is a modern, aquatic musk scent that’s fresh, lightly citric, and very softly floral; fresh and shimmering as the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. The ozone / marine, and ‘soapy’ elements are kept in check by soft woods to reveal a very easy-going and wearable unisex design.

– Arabesque: A resinous, woody fragrance with gourmand elements. The unusual notes of fig leaf, pomegranate, saffron, and Arabian rose meld with coffee, chocolate, and smoky bakhoor oudh incense. This is French elegance meets the deeply spiritual and earthy aromas of Arabia.

-Arabian Rose: (in Archives no.1): A classic, green edged rose soliflore scent.

-Arome d’Egypte:  Ancient. Occult. Immortal.  These three words truly describe Dawn Spencer Hurwitzʼ original perfume inspired by the perfumes of the Pharaohs. ( an incense-y, spikenard fragrance).

-Ashram:A woody take on the classic Nag Champa incense fragrance par excellence.

-At the Shore :: On the Rocks: An atmospheric, cooling skin scent of salty air, watery cucumber, driftwood, wet rocks, and of course, Gin & Tonic.

-Au Crépuscule de Lavande: A candied fougere retro nouveau perfume: sweet and delicious lavender mixed with dense, golden, resinous immortelle, myrrh, and tonka bean. The aldehydes and blackberry top notes make this unlike the aromatherapy lavender versions we are all so familiar with. Instead it’s a beautiful perfume filled with a deeply felt medicine for the soul… it’s joyful and restful at the same time.

-August Picnic, 1976:  A scented nostalgia : the piquant, robustly green, sweet & tart aroma of fresh rhubarb with subtle strawberry undertones counter balanced with green grass and dark, sultry woods. Delicious.

-Au Lait:  A milk with vanilla perfume; pure and simple.

-Avocado Toast: A fresh green, delicately creamy opening relaxes into a bed of toasty warmth. A wonderfully comforting skin scent with just the right amount of sweetness.

-Awake: A fresh and invigorating aromatherapy oil to keep you bright and in the moment.

-Axis Mundi: A meditative incense design filled with resinous notes and a deep, smoky background. Perfectly unisex.

B

-Bakul Medjool: The scent of a desert caravan in an all-botanical, exotically sweet, resinous, sugar date and incense fragrance.

-Balls… Said The Queen:“…If I had them, I’d be King”.  A tongue in cheek, yet unapologetic fragrance that playfully pokes at gender roles.  A stone fig leaf accord, like from a Greek or Roman statue, opens the design which gives way to a more warmed and fleshy fig fruit center paired with a salted rose accord. As the fragrance transitions into the drydown, a rich, fruity, and slightly animalic Oud note emerges along with fascinating facets of olive fruit – olive wood, warm skin musk, and ambergris.  I think it’s kinda badass.

-Bancha: An imaginative all botanical design that is both fresh and citrussy as well as a woody-chypre; Bancha is a “tea” scent that contains no tea.

-Beach Blanket: An intoxicating melange of salty sea air, coconut, and the rich, slightly waxy floral musk notes of french suntan creme.

-Beach Roses: (In Archives no. 9): A bright and slightly salty – spicy rose perfume with subtle green nuances. Timeless. Wild. Free. Based on the glorious white and pink rugosa roses that grow wild along the sandy beaches of Cape Cod.

-Become the Shaman:A grounding ritual mix based on palo santo, copal, tobacco, and sappy milkweed. The result is a lush forest of milky-woody incense, with spice-like hints, and smoke softly curling around you.   Great for men and women alike.

-Bermuda Lyme: A light lime dominant citrus and spice design with subtle hints of ocean breezes.

-BIWA: An ethereal and luminous fragrance inspired by Japanese freshwater Biwa pearls, and the lake that produces them.  Aldehydes, rice powder, steamed jasmine rice, and soft exotic woods create a perfume of ascension, and soaring spiritual release.

-Black Viola:  A fantasy floral chypre with a dense and pigmented feel; the lushest, darkest violet.

-bluedaisy: What could be more summer-fresh than our sky blue tinted daisy scent? An airy spin on a fresh, grapefruit-y floral gourmand. It’s lively and softly sweet, with fresh and tropical fruit notes, green grass, as well as hints at warm candy floss mixed with fragrant woods in the drydown.

-Blue-Green: Arnica: (in Archives no. 9): The refreshing scent of conifer trees within the mineral laden quality of ocean air. Breezy. Humid. Verdant. The scent equivalent of DaVinci’s ‘bluing effect of atmosphere” or the sense of atmosphere in the Pacific Northwest.

-Bodhi Sativa:  A suave and elegant patchouli perfume with a sexy, bohemian twist: a note of cannabis is hidden in the mix. – *discontinued

-Bois du Chocolat: Back by popular demand is our delicious chocolate, musk, and wood scent.

-Bourbon Vanilla: (in Archives no.3):  Vanilla Bourbon is an intensely rich and warm vanilla note with an almost burnt cocoa bean quality in the dry down. An exotic vanilla bean from an island off the coast of Madagascar. Sooo delicious and rather beautiful on a man.

-Bridesmaid: (in Archives no.3):  A simple nosegay for the Bridesmaids…something lovely for them to experience on your Wedding Day and to take home as a reminder of your cherished friendships. A fresh, light, lily-spring floral with peony and dewy pear nuances.

-Burnt Sugar Vanilla: Just the right balance of creamy vanilla to the dark, burnt sugar note. Sweet and gourmand without the toothache. Seductive, not juvenile.

-Butterfly Nectar: (in Archives no.9): A lovely lemon-clover-honey fruity floral with lush hints of animalics and woods in the drydown. The perfect evocation of Summer. Only flowers could produce this sensual and provocatively honeyed elixir sipped on summer afternoons by butterflies. Perhaps this is the fragrance of the fairies or just the scent they use to call their lovers…

C

-Caravan Spice:  A cozy and warm spice scent with ambery nuances and a sense of home near a warm fireplace.

-Cardamom & Khyphi:  An ancient incense design with a dominant cardamom topnote. It’s sweetly spicy and deeply resinous.

-China Rain:  A white floral bouquet with lily of the valley, honeysuckle, and gardenia mingle on a bed of white musk and subtle green nuances.  This is our fresh and musky rendition of an ‘oil perfume classic’.    We love this casual yet utterly feminine scent;  it’s great for a young girl’s first perfume and your Mother’s Day gift, too.

-Cordial:  Holiday decadence; a caramel gourmand with a vintage twist.

-Couverture d’Hiver:  A double thick blanket of wintery goodness: a foresty hillside covered in snow layered with a cozy blanket of white chocolate ganache. The mix is a surprising gourmand that starts out with a cool whiff of wintery air and dries down to a creamy, vanillic white chocolate and mineralized woody finish. * Unisex

This scent is more than unisexy…it channels your inner powerhouse. his is ‘Badass’ in a bottle, people.
