Description

For our second installment in our Flowers for Men series, we’ve gone from a sunshine island to the dark of night to find another unique flower: the Lilac.

Taking some inspiration from the ever gallant vintage classic, Coty’s groundbreaking “Chypre”, Lilas de Minuit combines these reference points with a dark lilac floriental heart and a fascinating spicy pepper complex in the topnote.  The result is a perfume that takes you on a midnight walk, deep into a densely purple lilac garden while the moon is full and your soul is filled with rapture.

Oh my ‘Lanta, what a stunner! This beauty goes on a bit strong, so don’t be heavy handed with it (or DO, as you prefer).
The scent is evocative of rich lilac but oh so much more. There’s a powdery aspect to the evolution but in the best possible way. There nothing “babyish” about Lilas de Minuit.
Excellent longevity, 6-8 hours on my skin.

Back in the 80‘s as a child I was crazy about my mother’s lipstick, or rather the scent of her lipstick. Sometimes In the secret i would take her lipstick and would smell on it. It was a significant, beautiful scent. Years later I was looking for a perfume which could smell like this, it was in vain. I try it from time to time to find it. Nope. I use at @fragranticaofficial the searching by notes option. Jasmin , Roses, powder,….. all the perfumes I do try was to floral or to powdery. I give it up, I thought I will never find it, guess it is to complex and it’s a special scent from my memories. Sometimes you don’t have to search, you will be found. Yesterday I put on my skin a drop Lilas de Minuit. The first minute I thought ok nice I could smell lot essences, i thought it needs time probably to unfold. It did need time but not to long. After 3-4 minuets it change into a beautiful, amazing and divine scent, the scent off my memories. My mother’s lipstick . Dawn thank you.

One of my favorites (so far). A soft but rich floral chypre. It feels like like a classic. Just lovely!

This is my favorite DSH chypre. Chypre is probably my favorite fragrance category and I own quite a number of them. This is my second favorite of my collection (that maybe sounds like a criticism but I think I mean that as a high compliment) and definitely a top go-to for when I want something delicate and sweet. It’s almost impossible to find a chypre that feels authentic but not momentous. Meh, I’m doing a poor job of reviewing this. I really, really love it and wear it all the time. The End.

This perfume is as mysterious as the moon. I always wear it on full moon nights and go out for walks under the moonlight. It is evocative. I remember reading “A Spy in the House of Love” by Anais Nin. The main character, Sabina, took moon baths. This fragrance is what you want for your moon baths.

I’ll start by stating i’m generally a fan of oriental/spice/amber perfumes.
But this fragrance, Lilas de Minuit, is a wonderfully addictive and soft, yet sturdy, powdery floral that has a masculine quality that compliments the softness.
I think the sillage is small but still personal. Longevity is pretty good. I’m 3 hours in and still get wafts of it.
I think this would be very nice on a man. . . . but I love it for myself!

This is a wonderful scent for date night with my wife. She likes how the lilac is balanced and how the scent deepens and evolves over the wear time. Highly recommend other guys give it a try.

It took a long time for me to figure out what Lilas de Minuit reminds me of: TF Black Orchid. It feels similarly deep purple and beautiful for a man, yet handsome for a woman. However, unlike the TF, it doesn’t give me a headache, nor have a hint of chemical sludge.

I tested a sample of Lilas de Minuit that I had forgotten about in a drawer for nearly a year and it absolutely blew me away. It is so effortlessly beautiful. I appreciate how unisex it is as I’m a woman who is commonly drawn to masculine scents but also loves a great floral. This is easily signature scent worthy. I will be purchasing a bottle of this for sure.

An unusually rich and nuanced lilac. A unisex stunner.
