This definitely has a very retro feel, and I mean that as a high compliment. I love vintage perfume, and am disheartened by how thin, screechy, and artificial-smelling most mainstream perfumes are today. Jitterbug perfectly captures the richness of the classic perfumes of a bygone era, without being too heavy. I was long a devotee of heavy-hitting Oriental perfumes, but as I have gotten older I find them to be often just too heavy and smothering. Jitterbug has the richness of an Oriental without the excess weight, rather like an olfactory version of chocolate mousse.

Jitterbug is warm, spicy & elegant. It is just the thing to wear with a string of pearls, a silk blouse & your favorite cashmere jacket.

I am trying to decide if I like Jitterbug or Euphorisme de Opium better, they are both so warm and spicy. I love them!!

This is a lovely vintage-inspired fragrance: warm, rich, powdery, with a hint of spiciness. It has fantastic staying power and gets even better with wear. I love it!

An old-fashioned floral chypre.
One might have encountered this in the 1930s or 1940s. It is warm, slightly spicy and richly endowed with amber, musk and benzoin.
The rose and jasmine are flawlessly balanced. The clove, patchouli and frankincense never intrude or take over, functioning as a rich supportive base for the plummy florals and blackberry.
One of Dawn’s finest creations and a welcome addition to the world of perfumery.

Jitterbug is a very spicy floral. To me it smells like roses and jasmine dipped in spices. When I wear it, I can’t seem to stop sniffing my wrists: it makes me very happy.

Laurie’s review is dead on about how many mainstream fragrances are think screechy and artificial. I quit wearing many department store fragrances years ago because of how they are much like a huge cloud (like Pig Pen in the Peanuts cartoons) and just assaults everyone around them. Fortunately for us, Dawn does not do that… her fragrances flirt just enough to say “hey!” and leaves us coming back for more! I love how this bygone fragrance isn’t stale and old and is rich without being heavy. Thank you Dawn for continually making us smell so good. I am continually complimented by strangers every time (no joke) I wear something from DSH.

This is my favorite DSH scent! Irresistibly spicy and incensy, chypre and patchouli. It’s warm and cuddly. It has a vintage vibe but is truly modern. I cannot identify any particular note, but if you love chypres, this is a must.

This one is definitely vintage inspired, as in preformulated Jicky type vintage.
It has the same sweet, creamy vanilla opening. Jitterbug does not have the powder element (AMEN!!). Between the spice, citrus, and warm, woody and smooth base, it’s complex.
It’s sweet without being too so, it’s got a floral note but the rose and jasmine counter each other and don’t dominate the blend.
It’s a grown up fun, carefree, playful scent that’s got a bit of sassy sexiness thrown in for good measure.
I’m a collector and this is actually my signature scent. I wear it every season but summer.

I am working through my samples, trying to find The One (or perhaps Two or Three). All the previous reviews are very accurate. This is a vintage-style fragrance in all the best ways: warm, smooth, a bit spicy, not overly sweet, classy. It reminds me a tiny bit of Cordial, which is more a gourmand. This may not be The One for me but I cannot fault a thing about this. I try to review the intent and the artistry that goes into the creation. Ms. DHS is such an interesting artist, while I might not personally like something, I always admire her vision and process.
