4 Stars plus. Will forever remind me of the smell of the New Age stores of 70’s. hippie chic is a warm delicious happy scent. Think mysterious too. use lightly.

I like this scent, but it’s not my favorite. There’s wet spicy incense at first, but the heart of the scent is a deep caramelly coconut. It’s not what I expected – I expected a richer, darker, smokier scent. This is like a light wet incense in the air of a restaurant where you are drinking chai and eating a Punjabi milk-sweet.

This isn’t too sweet, heavy or “unwashed” patchouli – wouldn’t call it a gourmand either. It is a plush, light almost “floral” patchouli with a burnt coconut nod to the tropical summer escape we dream of and the late summer early autumn street festivals with their swirl of scents. It also has a glowing quality to it that reminds me of blue skies and clear sunlight.

At first sniff, I picked up the note of coconut (which is always one of my favorites… I thought i would give it a try. I was a little concerned when I saw that it has patchouli, as I generally run far and fast from that scent, especially as a standalone. But fortunately the other notes tone it down. Definitely a casual laid back feel….
