Bees and beekeeping have been a fascination of mine for as long as I can remember. I continue to marvel at the wide range of sizes, shapes, and colors of these magical beings… not to mention their abilities to fly, hover, and maneuver in space the way that they do. I think of them as friends to humanity and myself, in particular. I try to help them in their work by planting bee-loving flowers and keeping the dandelions in my yard, and do so with deep gratitude for all that they provide in our world. In my little world, they provide endless inspiration.
The story of Urban Beekeeper is a simple one. They are a like minded bee lover who happens to live in the city with limited space but a love for the hive and wee flying animals that reside there. The beekeeper tends to the hive, collecting wax, bee pollen, and of course, honey. In the course of their tending, they commune with the hive and return to their other ‘urban’ world carrying bits of the scent of the hive with them. The beekeeper wears a lift citrus scent to the office but beneath it they also wear the scent of the hive. This is that amalgam fragrance; a perfume of two worlds meeting to create something beautifully magical (and perfect for Spring and Summer).

Bright juicy Yuzu dotted with wild spring flowers and a delicious transparent honey glowing it all up 🙂 Makes me feel like I’m walking in sunshine !

i really like this fragrance. I had never smelled yuzu before and it is sunny and lovely. The honey notes pair well and I do love a honey fragrance. Just perfect for Spring!

This is an absolutely gorgeous fragrance. I am not usually drawn to sweeter perfumes, but I had to sample this one after reading the CaFleureBon writeup, which was all raves. It’s not overly sweet and has just the right amount of citrus. I met with some friends the day I wore my sample, and I couldn’t wait to share the scent with them. One of them said “I have to have it!” Same, my friend, same…

Oh my!🐝
I work for a honey company and apprentice with a fellow beekeeper, so I HAD to try this aroma! What a delight! The yuzu opening is crisp, tangy and smooth. As the scent opens I am immersed in honey and pollen. It’s like I crawled into one of my hives!❤️ Warm, soft, sweet – full of sunshine and meadows humming with bees. This is my summer go-to scent! Love it! And so do our bees!🤗 A gorgeous creation! Beautiful!

I’m going to make a very bold statement and say Urban Beekeeper is a very solid competitor against Cristiano Canali’s “Bee” from the house of Zoologist (No offense Victor and Cristiano). I love Bee as well. I understand neither of these fragrances were created to compete and there are many differences in their composition, but I’m mainly reflecting on the theme of honey. Florals with the Yuzu make a great pairing and that added twist really works well with honey and beeswax that adds a certain organic element to the overall fragrance experience. I’ve received a few compliments when wearing it – Great spring/summer fragrance.

This is a floral-citrus sort of arrangement. If you’re looking for a sweeter honey (like I was), this may not be what you seek. There is a lot of fresh citrus/florals in this rather than gourmand honey. If you’re a fan of yuzu and light florals, you will enjoy this!

Perfect. Bright sunny citrus and florals floating over waft of honey. Sweet but not sugary. Both of my little boys said “yum” and approved.

At first application I wonder if it’s too sweet for me, but it mellows out into a great citrusy, subtly floral beeswax scent. There’s a hint of animal there as well. Animalics tend to disagree with me but Urban Beekeeper has a more neutral animal note, just the feeling of something warm and alive. Maybe cuddling a pet or nuzzling your face into someone’s neck while hugging. Top contender for full bottle at the moment!

My nose is sensitive to synthetics, so I usually avoid them, but I still sometimes try just in case. This is one that I think I would love if it was fully botanical, or if I didn’t have the nose that I do. I got a lot of the yuzu and eventually honey, and there’s a beautiful clean feeling to it. It would make for a lovely summer scent!
