La Belle Saison {Limited Edition}

(4 customer reviews)

$6.00 – $275.00

After many, many requests, we’re delighted to announce that we have created a new batch of our beloved “La Belle Season”… just in time for Lilac Season.  {Here while supplies last}.

A dreamy, ‘Impressionist’, all-natural lilac-centric floral perfume.  The waft of a late spring day with a bright dewy – sweet opening that quiets down to a soft skin scent, eventually landing at the delicate interweaving of acacia honey, heliotrope, and ambrette in the drydown.

Description

The Most Beautiful Season: Late Spring in full bloom.

“I have always loved this name, borrowed from an early Houbigant perfume that was meant to evoke a lush Summertime floralcy, so I wanted to create something special around it.   I have also wanted to engage the challenge of creating an all-natural, Lilac-centric fragrance, and with this new design these two visions came together.  I hope that you will enjoy this Impressionist style perfume that evokes the elusive aroma of French lilacs surrounded by verdant breezes carrying with it the scent of new growth, promise, and happiness.   Because for me, Spring is the most lovely time of year”.  ~ DSH

*100% natural.

***Perfume / Extrait or Voile Parfum mini roller vials are full.

I have been waiting a long time to try this perfume. I read a review of it years ago but, unfortunately when I tried to order it, it was no longer in production. After trying it, I am surprised but not disappointed. Rather than the lilac soliflore I was expecting, La Belle Saison is an ode to my favorite month of May. While lilac is certainly in the mix, on me it begins with a burst of anise which soon transforms into a watery bouquet of spring flowers which almost has a hint of melon. Though translucent, it is not transparent and definitely has a spine. If you crossed Claire de Lune with The Lusty Month of May from Camelot, it would smell something like this.

As a devoted lilac lover, La Belle Saison is a dream come true. It captures the essence of these beautiful purple blooms in full glory, yet there’s more to this fragrance. Imagine standing in a field of lilacs, the air buzzing with the gentle hum of nearby bees. A touch of honeyed sweetness mingles with the florals, creating a scent that’s authentically spring-like, yet deep and lush. La Belle Saison is a treasure- a constant reminder of the magic of spring. Its year-round presence would be a dream come true, as a true lilac lover can never get enough!

I am not a fan of lilacs at all, nor are many people in my geographical region because we get a ton of them everywhere in the Spring. They’re beautiful, but the scent…er, smell…er, ODOR…is often a bit too much.

That said, I’ll try any all botanical perfume as long as it doesn’t have any stanky or animalic components.

So I get samples of perfume for Christmas and try them throughout the year. I forget what each one of them is, and just try them without looking up what they are and are supposed to smell like. So I had no idea what this was when I chose it to try on test strips on my room.

    And welp…it is wonderful.

I did not get lilac until I looked it up here. What I experienced, in very lay terms, is a “sweet tart fresh floral” that is just very pleasing and pleasant.

As I man I’ll rock florals, no problem, florals often have what many would interpret as a clean soap vibe.

I can see why this is in demand and popular. It’s a great scent, and I’m reconsidering how I feel about lilacs all together. We’re just a couple months away from them coming out everywhere here in western New York, we even have a festival devoted to them, so I’m thinking about actually attending this year to see if I like the scent of lilacs more than I thought I did.

Cuz this is a really great scent. Sniffing it now 24 hours later on drydown, I get even more of the lilac, and I’d think that anyone that knows they like lilac would probably love this.

    Cheers!

The perfume I sampled (la belle saison) is the most beautiful perfume I’ve ever smelled, and Dawn was so kind throughout the entire process. If I had to do it over again, I would absolutely get this as my wedding perfume instead of the generic VR flower bomb that I went with. This is unique and smells a thousand times better. It also didn’t give me a headache or irritate my asthma. I’m also so grateful that Dawn took the time to speak with me about some questions I had (a lot of questions) to help me find some scents that worked for me and ideas to help my sister sample a few for her upcoming wedding. Time is so valuable especially as a SMB owner and Dawn provides exceptional customer service and products. Thank you so much, Dawn!
