Description
As the June roses bloom each year, I feel immensely inspired by the vast variety and beauty… not only in each genus and style, but in each and every unique rose blossom.
Damasq, with it’s aesthetic roots in Middle-Eastern and “Olde-Worlde” styles of rose perfumes, is not a rose oud as you might imagine. It’s a deep, red rose, the color of our most ardent love. Within this concept, I wanted to express our long standing romance with the rose and all that it symbolizes in our spiritual and emotional worlds.
By using an all natural palette, I feel that I have been able to truly capture something of the elusive nature of red roses: their intensity and depth, as well as the resinous-green, floral-spicy quality found in Damask Roses. The supporting note of rose leaves, geranium, incense, sandalwood, and balsam, give a beautiful balance to the natural fruity touch that most roses display.

So beautiful and delicious. Tart with a soft sweetness, I didn’t know rose perfumes could smell like this, mouthwateringly good.

Just wanted to add that after many hours the lovely plump jammy rose wears away and the perfume ends with an almost chewy honeyed sweetness. Gorgeous fragrance.

Wow, what a rose! You just fall right into the deep redness of it all and never want to leave.

I don’t normally gravitate towards rose, but this is lovely. I’m a fan of honey and raspberry and they come out beautifully in the dry down.

Juicy and rich, a great deep dark rose.

A beautiful, deep, jammy, stemmy rose with excellent presence! This isn’t a pretty citric tea rose but rather a perfectly unisex, full-bodied composition with oriental facets. Deceptively straightforward, but decidedly complex (the development is a fascinating journey), it’s my next DSH purchase.

This is my carry everywhere perfume. It’s warm, rich, and deep without being heavy or losing the florals. It comes across woody too, like theres a focus on the stem along with the petals.

To me I truly think Damasq centers on a Damask rose that feels rich and full rather than airy or sweet. There’s a resinous warmth that runs beneath it, with a subtle golden almost honeyed depth without becoming heavy. The texture stays velvety and smooth as it wears over time, keeping that lush character while remaining controlled. Because it sits close to the skin it feels intimate, like a classic rose handled with restraint. Ladies it’s a strong choice if you want a natural rose that leans deep and luxurious instead of bright or powdery.
