GAIA PERFUMES:
Coeur de Vanille, 1996: A densely rich and unctuous vanilla fragrance from way deep in my historical archives…one of the first natural perfume vanilla fragrances I created early in my design work. It’s a beautiful, resinous take on interpreting the “heart” of the vanilla bean pod with a classical form and drydown construction reminiscent of ‘Guerlainade’. 90% Natural Notes: Benzoin, Bergamot, East Indian Patchouli, Gallica Rose Absolute, Ho Wood, Labdanum, Lemon, Myrrh Gum, Mysore Sandalwood, Peru Balsam, Tolu Balsam, Tonka Bean, Vanilla Absolute, and Vanilla Oleoresin.
****** Coeur de Vanille is only available in Eau de Parfum and Extrait formats. It will not be available in Voile formats. ******
Épices d’Hiver (Winter Spices), 2011: Épices d’Hiver is wonderfully enveloping, warm and lusciously rich. It’s just what I crave for Fall and Winter… soft spice, sweet balsam and a glowing floral heart. An all botanical lush ambery, softly spicy floriental with a grandiflorum jasmine heart. 100% Botanical. Notes: Ambrette Seed, Bergamot, Bitter Orange, Cinnamon Bark, Citrus Oils, Clove Bud, Coriander Seed, Davana, Grandiflorum Jasmine, Labdanum, Moroccan Rose Absolute, Nutmeg, Pink Peppercorn, Siam Benzoin, Spice Notes, Star Anise, Tolu Balsam, True Arabian Myrrh, and Vanilla Absolute
Hand of Buddha, 2010: A citron scent like no other; it’s a fruity-floral-fresh yet absolutely citrus perfume. A wildly exotic citron from the far east and so named as the fruits look like the graceful hands found on sacred Buddha sculptures. Created for indiescents.com, this all botanical fruity-floral-citrus is both refreshing and euphoric. I never tire of this glorious aroma! 100% Botanical. Notes: Aglaia Flower, Australian Sandalwood, Buddahwood, Citrus Oils, Osmanthus, Petitgrain, Pink Peppercorn, Sambac Jasmine, Virginia Cedar, Ylang Ylang, and Yuzu.
Three Kings, 2011: A dry resin perfume based on the classic frankincense and myrrh theme. “We three kings of Orient are…Bearing gifts we traverse afar…Field and fountain, moor and mountain..Following yonder star…”
The traditional carol tells the story of our new Three Kings scent, so filled with precious resins, balms and woods from the Orient. There is nothing modern about this darkly textured and earthy perfume; it speaks to us of the Ancients. 100% Botanical. Notes: Atlas Cedarwood, Australian Sandalwood, Bergamot, Bitter Almond, Bitter Orange, Brazilian Vetiver, Buddahwood, Champaca Absolute, Davana, East Indian Patchouli, Frankincense (Olibanum), Grandiflorum Jasmine, Incense, Labdanum, Moroccan Rose Absolute, Myrrh Gum, Orange Flower Absolute – France, Orris Root, and Mitti.

For Ruba’iyat: review by Arneblaze October 9, 2014
A complex and compelling wood scent, made up as it is of numerous wood elements (Sandalwood, Agarwood, Oudh).
The first impression is that of a burst of Cedarwood – saw mill fresh, sharp, warm and powdery all at the same time. This is bathed in Amber and supported by Patchouli.
As the dry down develops, the spices (Frankincense, Myrrh, Cumin) blend with Rose, imbuing the wood notes with more warmth and roundness. A brief touch of menthol hovers in the background.
As always, DSH is very generous with its essential oils and a little bit goes a long way.
An excellent wood, more suited for men than women in my opinion.

What a lovely way to wrap yourself in yuletide magick! Soft, sweet and rich – this aroma evokes tradition, femininity, and winter in the woods. Beautiful!

Citrusy, sweet, zesty, juicy, one of the only citrus fruit perfumes that works well with my chemistry. I want to say that it has a soft candy sweetness, without being fake. It smells like a perfect tree ripened citrus fruit from the zest to the juice! I wear this when I need to feel uplifted from a funk. It layers well with tropical florals, patchouli, ocean.

Hand of Buddha is a buoyant fragrance that delights, while it simultaneously inspires relaxation and wakefulness. I first became enchanted with the actual fruit several years ago, though I never knew what to do with it other than appreciate its odd shape and wonderful citron scent. Now, this natural lemony perfume graces my senses and skin almost daily. It’s light enough to wear every day, never having overwhelmed those of us with sensitivities to perfumes. I enjoy many of Dawn’s fragrances but I return for this one again and again.
