This is a glorious evocation of the honeysuckle flower–immediate and yet elusive, evocative of every summer and every memory scented with these vines. Dawn is a brilliant perfumeur, as I’ve discovered many times. But the fragility, tenderness, and accuracy of this fragrance transports and makes me homesick in a whole new way. Move over, Marcel Proust, and drop that madeleine!

Opens with the fresh, bright scent of tangled vines with gentle white florals. As the scent dries, the green notes grow stronger, brightened with hints of citrus. Sweet clover smooths the greenery, as a touch of buttery jasmine enriches the honeysuckle, revealing the blossoms’ rich creaminess and honeyed, golden nectar.
I thought this might be a bit green for me, but as the scent warms on my skin, the florals slowly become more and more creamy, becoming the focal point in a way that is very realistic, capturing the perfect balance of fresh honeysuckle and green vines.
This has great throw, and I love the way it floats around me, reminding me of the lush, airy blossoms of childhood summers. I have tried *so* many honeysuckle scents from every house I could think of, and they’re very difficult to get right, but this one is flawless.

What a happy smell this is! I’m normally indifferent to honeysuckle, so I never would’ve tried this had I not won the body lotion in a monthly review drawing, and I’m delighted by the way this smells on my skin. The green notes really come out strong for me, notes plural because it’s so multifaceted and smells like standing in a field surrounded by many different varieties of plants, all vibrant and vivacious with spring sunshine. The honeysuckle itself ends up being a strong supporting note, just one more inhabitant of this natural scene, accompanied by subtle wafts of bright neroli. Receiving this in lotion format was fortuitous, since I’ve had really dry feet lately but avoided doing anything about it because I hate the slippery oily feeling lotions leave behind. This sank in immediately and left me soft with no gross oily feeling when putting on socks after. The scent also projects from the skin much more readily than I’d expect from a lotion, too.
