Tsukimi, (pronounced “Ski-Me”), is the Japanese festival and tradition of Moon Gazing, which happens every Autumn. These festivals were created to celebrate the beauty of the moon and to offer harvest gratitude. Our contemplative fragrance is the perfect companion for moon gazing in the cool night air as this design warms from within.
With Tsukimi DSH has created a new kind of comfort scent… something more subtle and meditative than mere hedonism or a child’s lust for the sweet. It’s a beauty that glows like moonlight and imparts a kind of psychological warmth.

It’s a beautiful scent! So comforting. I’m very surprised there are no reviews for this one yet.
It’s been raining all day in my city, and this is the perfect “rainy day” fall or winter fragrance. It evokes being inside of a cozy log cabin in the mountains, looking out the window as evening turns to night.
Gorgeous and evocative, I must have a full bottle! I love its subtlety as well, it doesn’t overpower and there are no perfume-y notes in this one.
If you are searching for a new kind of comfort scent, I highly recommend Moon Gazing.

Very creamy and woodsy with some soft spice. Very comforting and contemplative – the name ‘moon gazing’ is perfect. It makes me think of being bundled up outdoors in the early fall, watching the stars at night. The ambrette shines in this composition, turning everything sepia-toned and lightly musky. Beautiful, warm, and thoughtful.

The woody, sweet, and spice (not spicy) notes are beautifully blended. Wood and spice notes are what I notice first, with a touch of sweetness in the background. It is not a dessert-like fragrance, but it does have something soft and delicious about it. My skin tends to amplify sweet and spice notes, which makes this “for men” fragrance smell feminine enough for my liking. One of my favorites.

This has such a beautiful opening: soft, creamy, and comforting. There’s a touch of pale, balsamic musk, like amyris or a very gentle ambergris. The musk swirls together with the rich base, evoking images of seashells on a moonlit beach, smooth and opalescent and dusted with glittering sea salt.
The scent of fig leaf and cypress on the breeze draws the scent further inland. A scattering of silky, pink rose petals adds a sweetness to the scent, bringing forth the smell of ripe figs as autumnal spices emerge — soft yet fragrant, warming the woods and adding a hint of gold to the pale glow. The spices and fruits among the woods bring to mind traditional harvest festivals and the cozy days of fall.
A creamy veil of cool musk is the perfect finishing touch, surrounding the comforting scent in a lunar glow. This is absolutely beautiful and so seamlessly blended, it’s difficult to pick out notes once it’s settled. The final result is a comforting yet complex scent that has a timeless, elegant glow.

Another beautiful scent from the Moonlight Series. I love the festival and tradition of Moon Gazing and Dawn really captured the essence of looking at an autumn moon. It is very soft, comforting, and cozy. The ambrette and sandalwood are the most prominent notes on my skin, which creates a sensation of being wrapped in cashmere. There’s a creaminess and just a hint of sweetness. Overall, it’s really beautiful and perfect for an autumn night gazing at the moon.

This is stunning, I’m shocked it doesn’t have more reviews! It’s tagged with “effortless chic” and I couldn’t agree more. To me this opens with creaminess and the crisp, spiced greenery of fig leaves, then deepens with the woods and resins as it wears. Hints of fruit flesh and rosewater bring a little spring sweetness into the autumnal woods and spices, and although this has a very comforting feel perfect for cold days I think this could easily be worn in either season.
