Description
When I was a child, my mother began observing advent as a part of her religious experience of Christmastime. I never fully understood all of the fine points of her ceremony, but I have to admit that it created a life long love of candles and the exquisite dancing light of the flame. She had other wonderful Christmas decorations that were only allowed to be experienced during this very short period of time in December, including my favorite candle set: a golden angel set on a twirling wheel. The softly scented candles were in ruby colored glass holders and the heat from the flames would set the angel in motion. I can recall countless deeply dark evenings, with all of the lights out except for the colored lights on our tree and the spinning glow from my darling angel. It felt solemn and mysterious, and joyful, too. This is the quality that I hoped to express in this new holiday fragrance for 2021: Ruby Candlelight.
The fragrance of the candles, as I realized later, was a soft raspberry note that mingled beautifully with the scent of the hot wax, the lightly burning flame, and the aromatic ambiance of the the Christmas tree in the room. It was the perfect effect to bring to life the color of the glass and the candles. I hope that Ruby Candlelight will bring you as much pleasure to experience this holiday season as it does for me to share it with you! Happy Holidays <3

I received a sample of this in my last order and found myself wearing it more often than the perfumes I did order. So, I placed another order for this wonderful fragrance. The description is perfect – “ soft, jubilant raspberry and beeswax scent with subtle wisps of flickering flame and smoke”. Dawn is truly amazing in that you can actually sense the flickering flame. It is like being surrounded by a glowing candle that follows you wherever you go.

I find this scent to have two layers which last throughout the wear. The first is the bright, sweet fruity smell which walks the fine line between heady and cloying. Fortunately, it never crossed into cloying and was not so strong that I nor people around me were overwhelmed. Underneath that is the smell of the candle. In the beginning I mainly noticed the wax – it was as if I was playing with the melted wax of a fruity candle. As time went on, I’d catch the faint scent of smoke (candle smoke, not tobacco) underneath the fruit. I really enjoy this scent though I find it too much for day-to-day use.
