Description
There’s nothing like the scents of the southwestern desert… the interplay of dry and moist; dusty reds and browns with succulent greens. The “Out West MiniSeries” is a fun filled olfactory collection inspired by the desert landscape of the southwestern United States (and a little bit of Wile E. Coyote cartoons).
Redstone Mesa represents the vast red and brown space that is the backdrop to all of the richness of the deserts of the American southwest. It is the atmospheric scent of hot dry air, deep, resinous woods, creosote, dusty sand, iron rich rock and earth.

Smelling this just from the sample vial, I didn’t think I would like this perfume all that much. But it smells so different when applied. Quite complex. It’s floral, herbal, woody with a slight conifer scent. A little sweet and sharp. Really pleasant.

It’s Saturday night and the ranch hand is going out. He’s showered and put on some nice duds. Not overly starched wranglers and a purple pearl-snap with a paisley pattern, dark boots and dark belt with a noticeable buckle but nothing ostentatious. There’s vigor in his stride that kicks up dust on his way to the truck. And as he settles into the cab the dust settles onto him. It’s an inescapable facet of living in this part of the country: the grit that pervades every aspect of life around these parts. Its the haze that mellows a glowing red sunset; the sand that crunches underfoot on a busy dance floor; the broken bottles and bloodied knuckles behind any decent bar; the tender moments that, somehow or other, always seem to end in heartache. This is Redstone Mesa.

The desert after the rain. The smell of creosote and cactus when wet. Very wonderfully the western botanical environment. Reminds me of my home in Arizona.
