As someone who loves studying perfume history and the historical forms of perfume construction, I have long wanted to create a non-traditional, “traditional” violet perfume. “Daybreak Violets”, aka Violettes de L’Aube, is just that. With a nod to the late Victorian style of violet scents, and some referencing of “Apres L’Ondées” by Guerlain from the turn of the 20th century, Violettes de L’Aube brings the soft, powdery to green violet floral up to date with modern ozonic and mineral aspects.

My “holy grail” violet fragrance! Dawn is an artist with violet notes (I order the EdP of La Vie en Rose, her gorgeous tribute to YSL Paris, at least twice a year), and her artistry has never been more apparent than with Violettes de L’Aube. On my skin, it’s a lovely violet candy, with green notes beautifully tempering the powdery sweetness. I’ve searched for just this kind of violet scent for years. A real compliment-getter!
