Description
Just in time for the dog days of Summer: an all-botanical eau fraiche style fragrance picked fresh from my garden. Summer Cologne is more than just a light scent to wear when it’s hot… It’s refreshing, true, with bright citrus notes mixed with green tomato leaves. But the heart of sultry flowers and base of mineral earth gives an elegant impression both slightly bitter melded with sweet; piquant with fresh, and savory. For me, it’s the perfect garden delight.
* EdP / VdP sample vials are 1/2 filled; Extrait / Voile Parfum 1 ml mini rollerball samples are full.
**FYI: the Voile de Parfum format is created with natural IPM.

One of the most delightful aspects of scent is to promote a connective illusion. Summer Cologne achieves this so successfully that even while I’m walking down an asphalt street, I can close my eyes, smell my wrist, and believe I’m in my backyard garden, harvesting the fresh ingredients for a good pesto. YUM!

After application, I smell like I peeled a juicy ripe orange that dripped down my arms and dried. After I spent a morning in my garden pruning non-descript vegetable greens. I don’t get distinct tomato leaf, but an earthy top note does come across. This is a beautiful fragrance that puts me outside among a garden on a sunny, lazy day.

If you like eau de cologne style fragrance, you’ll love this. Light, refreshing, subtle, never overwhelming. Totally unisex. Bright and citric and cheerful. One of the most realistic (albeit subtle behind all the citrus) tomato leaf notes I have ever smelled in perfumery. If it didn’t have such a short longevity (just like 4711 or any other eau de cologne style,) I would buy a gallon of this. However, just like 4711, it’s well worth wearing. I personally prefer DSH’s Summer Cologne over 4711. In fact, DSH’s Summer Cologne might even be my favorite eau de cologne of all-time. If you are sensitive to fragrance, this would be a fantastic choice.
