This is a big bold beauty, round and luscious. I’ve never been able to wear the original Shalimar, which goes powdery on my skin, so this is as close as I’ll get. It has good lasting power for an all-natural.(actually is mixed-media which is only part natural) I sampled the EDP, and am planning to order the perfume.

I also got a sample of this and I’m hooked—what a beautiful dry down!

I had a sample vial of this and fell madly in love. I am still waiting for my bottle of EDP to arrive, which is why there are only 4 stars; will bump this up to five stars when I receive my bottle. I am hoping it gets here today!

This is all I ever wear! Everywhere I go people stop to ask what perfume I am wearing. I have turned many people onto this scent. It’s the best!!!!

I bought this for my mother for an early mother’s day. She called me today and told me all her co workers complimented her all day on this EDP. This is sublime. I highly recommend this.

I’ve always loved the classic orientals, and Guerlain’s Shalimar is no exception, but I love DSH’s Egyptian Shalimar even more. It’s free from the initial wallop of citrus and animalic halitosis that I get in the original, and it’s sexier and richer… more powerful. Egyptian Shalimar is all the best things about classic old-school orientals—feminine, a little powdery, spicy, complex—with a lush sexiness that makes it irresistible. Wearing it makes me feel like some ancient love goddess of myth and legend. It is, in a word, opulent.

Oooooh. This is perfect. Love the touch of powder, coupled with the spicy and vanilla. Very sexy!

I’m trying to ease myself into trying vintage style perfumes. I’ve never tried the original Shalimar on my own skin, but as soon as I tried this, it was instantly recognizable. It reads to me as my mom’s makeup bag growing up, crossed with something a touch animalic. Smells expensive. I think I’d prefer this on someone else, as being migraine prone I find it can give me headache.

I’ve been trying out a generous sample of this and goodness, it’s lovely. Shalimar by Guerlain–I haven’t sampled vintage, what I have is a more modern reformulated version–opens with that citrus note, then deepens down and gets smokey. This Egyptian Shalimar to my nose doesn’t have the citrus blast, and isn’t as smokey and hence more wearable. It is lovely, powdery, scrumptiousness. It reminds me quite a bit of my ebay vintage Toujours Moi but not quite as spicy as that one. If/when that dreadful day comes when vintage Toujours Moi goes extinct, I hope this Egyptian Shalimar is still around, perhaps as a treasured vintage itself. Really lovely!
