Re-Assess {an isolation / meditation experience; natural perfume; 2021}

Description

As our isolation continues, through a second year of quarantine and pandemic, a fractured society, and so much CHANGE to how we’re living our lives, a key word has come into my meditation: Re-Assess.  This design, like “New Hope…Is Where We Dream”, was begun earlier in the year; June to be exact.   It was originally imagined with the title “Hit Reset”, but once again as I began to work on the fragrance and the visual artwork together, the energy in the world began to change.  The Delta variant began to take hold in July, and what had been an energy of reawakening and hope in the Spring was morphing into another phase of grief, fear, and loss.  We are still far away from hitting a total reset of our lives, so for now we must continue to persevere, and continually re-assess what we value most, who and what we love, and put what’s truly important foremost in our lives.

Re-Assess, the fragrance, was inspired by the sense of freedom and wonder found in children playing.  I had hoped to feel as free this Summer, but it wasn’t to be.   As I worked on this design I remembered my own childhood, running through tall grass on humid Summer days… playing with my friends and always coming home with grass stains on my jeans.
