When I first smelled this, I got tearful because it evokes my dear Oma. It isn’t a “grandma scent” by any means, but it brings back the soft, enfolding hugs of my German grandma. She never wore perfume, but this is her somehow, her love distilled. Try this if you like Guerlain Vol de Nuit.

I’m surprised there aren’t more reviews of this lovely scent. I got it as a “freebie” with some other samples, and it’s turned out to be one of my favorites. I agree with the reviewer Lisa that this is a very warm, comforting scent. It’s got a hint of smoke and incense, but it’s very light, unlike many scents in that family. It feels like a very harmonious combination of spice, smoke, and chypre.

Very pretty. Reminds me of soft, warm, summer nights. I found this perfume super hard to describe otherwise.

I received this as a sample in one of my orders. The first day I tried it I thought wow this is really growing on me. I already have 2 absolute staple scents that I wear from DSH and I thought, is there space for a third? I found myself smelling my wrist over and over throughout the day and finding incredible comfort from this scent. It evokes a feeling of all the seasons together in a harmonious symphony of warmth, richness, summer nights, fall crispness, and clean winter mornings. Love it!!!

Firefly is, to me, a very unusual woody and vegetal fragrance. It’s wonderful for fall and the complete opposite of a cloying sweet perfume. I get celery seed and herbs like thyme of sage, followed by cumin, pepper and cedar, with a patchouli base. It reminds me of the spices used in Indian spice mixes but without the cinnamon and clove. It softens upon wearing and it becomes more of a musk and subtly floral on me. I find it very comforting but it is not a typical fragrance.
