About This Product

Inspired by Bonifacio Bembo’s “Adoration of the Magi” (about1455-1460) and Renaissance Milan’s great wealth and status among cities. This fragrance depicts traditional Catholic incense, which is based on the gifts of the Magi to the Christ child: frankincense, gold and myrrh. Even during the Renaissance, these rare aromatic gifts of the East (frankincense and myrrh) were more costly than their weight in gold.
I have included a precious rose note to this design as well, to center the essence and to symbolize Mary.

This is a rich, long lasting, gorgeous scent that I wore for Holy Week because of the incense and rose notes. It really helped me stay mindful of and connected to this time of intense prayer and sacrificial love. While listed as a men’s fragrance, I was very comfortable wearing it. Not a summer scent! Probably not for the office. But beautiful.

My favorite incense perfume. Full, rich, loaded with frankincense, myrrh and other naturals (96% natural according to Dawn.) It starts out very incense-y then slowly warms and sweetens a bit with some florals and rosewood yet remains rather austere and solemn, throughout, just as I like and want from an incense perfume. It’s a tonic for hectic days when its grounding, calming effect is welcome. I’ve put it head to head with other high end niche and designer incense perfumes, but none come near pleasing me as much as Adoration.

This begins rather harshly with an unpleasantly sharp turpentine/linseed oil/menthol burst that made me sad, thinking, oh, no, a DSH scent that I will not like at all.

Patience, patience. Always wait until the dry down. The amber and rose calm the raw frankincense/myrrh blend that I was initially smelling and warm it considerably.

Though a bit strong to my nose, it does quickly become eminently wearable, though it would seem more suited for men than women.

Not for everyone, but definitely a must try for those loving incense based scents.
